Missing children

Issuing an AMBER Alert is a serious matter. The media attention and privacy consequences for the child and its family in question are to be assessed by the police and in some countries the public prosecutor, taking into consideration EU and national legislation. An AMBER Alert (or similar alert with alternate name) requires the permission of the parents or guardian of the child in question.

In accordance with article 8 of the European Convention on Human Right (ECHR), AMBER Alert will never publish data without the prior consent of the claimant to publish his/her information or picture on a public network. If the claimant has indicated that the use of the picture is not to be published on a public network, but limited to for instance a closed network, AMBER Alert will respect this demand.

Information about missing children on the AMBER Alert Luxembourg website is carefully collected from official police sources throughout Europe. AMBER Alert Luxembourg is not responsible for the content in the missing children descriptions on its website.
